    On February 1, 2023 starting at 18:00 UTC (13:00 EST/EDT), and continuing until 23:00 UTC (5 hours), Heroku will be performing a service update to the Heroku Data services.

    During this time:

    • The Diagnose tab in data.heroku.com will be unavailable
    • The pg:diagnose feature will be unavailable
    • Capturing manual or scheduled database backups with Heroku PGBackups, database restores with pg:restore and database copies with pg:copy will be unavailable (Note: this would apply to both the CLI but also if the customers create backups via the dashboard, so it's not CLI specific)
    • For Essential tier databases, Mini and Basic, access to the Data Dashboard and heroku pg CLI commands will be unavailable
    • Essential tier databases cannot be provisioned

    Provisioning or managing databases on production tier plans will not be impacted. All datastores, including Essential and production plans, will still be available and operating normally. Dataclips will not be impacted.

    We will provide an update when we begin and complete the service upgrade.
